Serving Battle Creek, MI
The brilliantly designed Toyota Grand Highlander and Grand Highlander Hybrid share many traits, but there are important differences between them. These are both midsize SUVs that accommodate up to eight passengers. At the same time, they offer ample cargo space and a large selection of modern features. What should you know about these models before buying your next SUV from Sunshine Toyota?
Performance
The most significant differences between the Grand Highlander and the Grand Highlander Hybrid are found under the hood. Every 2025 Grand Highlander is loaded with a four-cylinder, turbo 2.4-liter engine that puts out 265 horsepower. This engine features an eight-speed automatic transmission and has standard front-wheel drive on most trims. All-wheel drive is standard on the top trim level and optional on the others.
The Grand Highlander Hybrid has two powertrain options. The four-cylinder hybrid, 245-horsepower engine comes with a CVT. It also has your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. A turbocharged Hybrid Max engine is also offered. It produces 362 horsepower and has a six-speed automatic transmission. This system includes standard all-wheel drive.
Appearance
Visually, these two Toyota models are identical on the exterior. Their look is defined by a confident, tall roof and hood. From the side view, you can admire dark body molding, slightly molded haunches, and a raked rear. The grille spans across the majority of the front end, and it is styled with sharp, flared corners and stacked, horizontal crossbars. Slender headlights are mounted at an angle and topped by an LED bar. Both models are offered with up to 20-inch wheels, power-folding and heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, and more. The Grand Highlander Hybrid is also offered with a new Nightshade Edition, which adds black trim and black wheels.
Features
Regardless of your preference for the 2025 Grand Highlander or Grand Highlander Hybrid, your Toyota SUV may be outfitted with lane keeping, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision mitigation, a digital rear mirror, a panoramic sunroof, traffic jam assist, a head-up display, a JBL sound system, memory settings for the driverās seat, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, a household power outlet, a digital key, wireless charging and other features.
