2024 Toyota Tacoma vs 2023 Toyota Tacoma

Serving Battle Creek, MI

The midsize Toyota Tacoma truck debuts its fourth generation in 2024 with a stunning refresh, enhanced performance capabilities, and a few new features. In 2024, the Tacoma also adds a new trim level, the Trailhunter. Our Sunshine Toyota sales associates can help you check out all of the exciting changes between the 2023 and 2024 Tacoma.

Performance

In 2023, select trims came with inline-four making 159 horsepower or an industrial V6 making 278 horsepower. In 2024, most trim levels have a 2.4-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine. It combines with an eight-speed auto transmission and produces 228 horsepower on the base SR model. This output bumps up to 270 horsepower with a six-speed manual transmission and 278 horsepower with an eight-speed auto transmission on other trims. A hybrid I-Force Max engine is also available, and it delivers up to 326 horsepower combined. All Tacoma trucks for both model years have a body-on-frame design. They are also available with either a leaf spring suspension or a coil spring suspension.

Appearance

The redesigned 2024 Tacoma has a rigid, modern look with dramatically defined fenders and rigid, deep grooves over the sides. The sculpted hood maintains its height, allowing for a wide grille and a dominating lower fascia. The headlights have a unique look with flares that angle upward and downward. Select trims for 2023 and 2024 are outfitted with exterior gear like a hood scoop, all-terrain tires, a skid plate, a sunroof, heated side mirrors, and others.

Features

The redesigned Tacoma also shows off interior updates. For example, the latest Tacoma has a 7-inch digital display cluster, a head-up display, heated and cooled front seats, and a 12.3-inch digital central display screen. Select trims also have leather upholstery, heated seats, a JBL sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a dual-zone auto climate control system, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, a keyless ignition, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, and others.

1. Never tow beyond a vehicle's published towing capacities. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. Follow all instructions in your Owner's Manual.
2. Payload includes the weight of occupants, cargo and options and is limited by weight distribution.
