The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid delivers the utility and style of the standard RAV4 crossover along with key advantages that you can enjoy from behind the wheel. The Toyota bZ4X is an all-electric model that is comparably sized to the RAV4 Hybrid. Despite being close siblings in the lineup, these models have striking differences.

Performance

The differences start under the hood. The 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid features a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter gas engine that connects to two electric motors. This system produces 219 horsepower. A CVT and all-wheel drive are standard. The 2024 Toyota bZ4X has a range of up to 252 miles and requires 11 hours for home charging. A dual-voltage charging cable that accommodates both Level 1 and Level 2 charging is now standard. Two motor systems are available: a 201-horsepower, single-motor layout with front-wheel drive and a 214-horsepower, dual-motor layout with all-wheel drive.

Appearance

The RAV4 Hybrid is recognized for its edgy style. It is designed with a tall, flat roof, a raked rear, and squared-off, molded fenders. At the front, a short, A-frame grille is mounted above a similarly shaped bumper. The deep-set air intakes support the dual-elemental, bold LED headlights. The bZ4X has a modern look with tall, crisp accents running down the steep hood and a wide, body-colored piece consuming most of the nose. A minimized grille runs below this unit and the air inlets are concealed by the black molding that runs over the fenders. The headlights show off an LED bar mounted atop three minor LED bulbs. Over the sides, a well-defined band crosses the doors and bends sharply over the rear haunches. The fenders have a squared-off, molded design.
