Performance

Six trim levels are offered for the 2022 RAV4, and all have the same powertrain. This is a four-cylinder, 203-horsepower engine with an eight-speed auto transmission. The lower trims come with front-wheel drive, or you can upgrade to all-wheel drive. However, the Adventure and TRD Off-Road both have standard all-wheel drive. Some trims also have a raised suspension, several terrain drive modes, hill descent control, an off-road suspension, and all-terrain tires. Notably, the 2023 Toyota RAV4 is comparably equipped for all trim levels.

Appearance

The RAV4 is distinctly styled with standout, chiseled side panels and sharp angles over the wheel wells. The front and rear windows are athletically raked, and the hood makes a minor descent to connect to the tall nose. The black grille and bumper are A-like, and the small foglights are placed in rectangular ports. The trapezoidal headlights are mounted at an angle. Exterior equipment could include roof rails, fender flares, a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and up to 19-inch wheels.

Features

The only significant differences between the 2022 and 2023 RAV4 crossovers are found inside the two-row cabin. Specifically, the digital instrumentation and central touch display screens for higher trim levels are more prominent in 2023. The base RAV4 trim is well-equipped with an 8-inch central display screen, Safety Sense 2.5 assistive technologies, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a few other features. At higher trims, the RAV4 could also come with keyless entry, a 10.5-inch central display screen, a push-button ignition, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a JBL audio system with 11 speakers, a wireless charging pad, a digital rearview mirror, and several additional features.
