The 2024 Toyota Tacoma introduces exciting improvements with the launch of its fourth generation. This midsize truck has several cab and bed sizes to suit different needs. The trim lineup has grown larger and now includes the SR, the SR5, the TRD PreRunner, the TRD Sport, the TRD Off-Road, the Limited, the TRD Pro, and the Trailhunter.
The revised exterior design of the 2024 Tacoma expresses its strong command of the road through its sculpted and crisply defined sides and broad dimensions. These are combined with robust and dark molding over the wheel wells. The flat hood curves downward slightly on the sides. The hexagonal grille and A-style bumper take up the vertical height on the Tacoma's nose. These are combined with sharp air vents and an innovative LED headlight design.
Three powertrains are available, including a turbo 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, 228-horsepower engine, and an upgraded four-cylinder unit that produces 278 horsepower. An i-Force Max hybrid, the 2.4-liter turbo engine delivers 326 total horsepower. Depending on the trim selected, the 2024 Tacoma's performance may be elevated by a leaf-spring or multi-link rear suspension, twin-tube shocks, an electronically locking rear differential, a front stabilizer bar disconnect, Multi-Terrain Select, full-time four-wheel drive, skid plates, a high-mount air intake, and several additional performance-elevating features.
The next-generation Tacoma is packed with great features for all trims. Some of the features offered in select or all trims are a digital instrument cluster, Smart Key, a 12.3-inch infotainment system display screen, JBL Flex speakers, a portable speaker, aluminum pedals, powered running boards, a powered tailgate, a head-up display, heating, and cooling functions for the front seats, auxiliary DC switches, an air compressor in the bed and other gear.
